# ANN: xradar v0.7.0/v0.8.0

Dear Community,

within the past 10 days we’ve released 🚀 xradar v0.7.0 (2024-10-26) and 🚀 v0.8.0 (2024-11-04).

- [xradar — xradar 0.7.0 documentation](https://docs.openradarscience.org/projects/xradar/en/v0.7.0/index.html)  
This is the last version to work with the standalone xarray-datatree.  
xarray is pinned to \<=2024.9.0.
- [xradar — xradar 0.8.0 documentation](https://docs.openradarscience.org/projects/xradar/en/v0.8.0/index.html)  
This is the first version to work with the xarray based datatree.  
xarray is pinned to \>=2024.10.0.

Both are available on PyPI and conda-forge.

The datatree implementation between old xarray-datatree and the xarray-based datatree differs quite a bit, so we suggest to explore the [xarray/DATATREE\_MIGRATION\_GUIDE.md at main · pydata/xarray · GitHub](https://github.com/pydata/xarray/blob/main/DATATREE_MIGRATION_GUIDE.md) and the xarray doc on [Data Structures](https://docs.xarray.dev/en/stable/user-guide/data-structures.html#datatree).

Within xradar we tried to keep the impact as little as possible! If you find any issues with your current code, please head over to the [xradar — xradar 0.8.0 documentation](https://docs.openradarscience.org/projects/xradar/en/stable/) (which also got a decent lift) and check the updated examples. If you experience any bugs or have other sorts of problems, please open an [issue](https://github.com/openradar/xradar/issues/new).

At the same time we’ve fixed some bugs 🐛 and added some nice features, like automatic conversion between [CfRadial1 \<-\> CfRadial2 — xradar 0.8.0 documentation](https://docs.openradarscience.org/projects/xradar/en/stable/notebooks/Transform.html) or [Map Over Sweeps — xradar 0.8.0 documentation](https://docs.openradarscience.org/projects/xradar/en/stable/notebooks/Mapping_Sweeps.html).
