Is HRRR assimilating radar velocities?

Hello all,

Looking at some pydda dual doppler wind retrievals examples, I understand that one may typically uses a reanalysis/forecasting model (like HRRR) as a background field.
Though, I was wondering: are models like HRRR already assimilating by themselves (maybe with a different technique than pydda’s 3DVar) radar wind velocities ?
I found information online that clearly states that radar reflectivity is assimilated in HRRR, but I could not find any clear statement regarding radar velocities.

I believe HRRR only assimilates radar reflectivity but nothing else from NEXRAD. PyDDA would have the opposite approach, only assimilating winds from HRRR, but not reflectivity.
