I currently am using gridded level 2 radar data for a project and I am getting towards the analysis section. This weekend I noticed a ‘ring’ shaped artifact that appears like a ripple in the reflectivity pattern and really only shows up in stratiform precipitation after an MCS or even with potential bright banding in the cold season. I’m not sure if that’s a grid assimilation error, but I used the distance beam ROI function, Barnes2, and a minimum radius of 400m to generate my grids.
Any help would be much appreciated!
