Open Radar Community Meeting

Hi All,

At our previous Py-ART development meeting, we brought up the idea of moving toward a broader Open Radar community meeting, focused more on the community instead of just the development of a single package.

Is this something others would be interested in? We could structure it like the Pangeo community meetings, which typically include

  • Community Checkins
  • Some sort of short “showcase” of a workflow/new tool
  • Topics of collaboration

This is in contrast to a typical developer meeting that can become very technical.

Any thoughts @kmuehlbauer ? Or others? For now, we could use the current slot we have allocated for the Py-ART dev call (1500 UTC every other Tuesday, with the next meeting being Tuesday February 28.

I very much enjoyed the meeting. Thanks @mgrover1 for highlighting https://projectpythia.org/ and @aladinor for introducing to the radar to zarr project in Colombia.

Looking forward to the next meeting and for this encourage everyone to join (if the timezone allows).
